The USAF’s Hurlburt Field base has been the home of the United States Air Commandos since 1961. The base is home to the 1st Special Operations Wing and a number of associated units. The Air Force’s special operations forces are part of the US military’s specialized air power, and the base supports worldwide deployment and assignment to regional unified commands.
